Catrin is a young girl from the Rhondda Valley who decides to learn Welsh. But although she enjoys the course, she still feels like an outsider when she spends time with first language Welsh speakers. With the help of Elin, the new girl that moves into her houseshare, she comes to learn more about the Welsh culture, at a book launch (at least there’s free wine) and a twmpath dawns (full of handsome teachers). They even manage to give Liam, Biggsy, and Lauren, their other housemates, a bit of an eye-opener when they all go on a trip to the National Eisteddfod.
A fresh novel, full of humour that sheds new light on the experience of being a Welsh learner. This is the first novel by the late Dr Nerys Rees Bowen from Cwmparc near Treorchy.
